Yangon
is situated in the fertile delta country of southern Myanmar on the Yangon
River. In the 1775 Yangon became the capital of Myanmar when King Alaungpaya made stop the
numerous internal wars. Yangon means literally “end of the fight”.
Later the city was first conquered by the British and then by the Japanese and became again capital
of Myanmar in 1948. Today the city is an important cultural centre as well as a
very active commercial port.

Chaukhtat Gyi - A huge reclining Buddha Image, Karaweik Royal Barge - A royal floating Barge on a lake for the fantastic photo view, Mahapasana Cave (if open), Kaba Aye Pagoda - World Peace Pagoda. Afternoon sightseeing to Bogyoke Market - used to call Scott Market for shopping , continue visit Sule Pagoda – landmark in the heart of city, Nanthida Jetty to see river life on the Yangon river , and evening stroll along the China Town & Fruit Market . Visa On Arrival
This is to certify that Myanmar Authority ordered to suspend temporary issuing visa on Arrival at Yangon and Mandalay International Airports with effect from 1st September 2010 (Wednesday)… after 4 months trail operations for visa on arrival since 1st May 2010.
The reason is that Authority will review outcomes of beneficial results for Tourism Industry in Myanmar and then they will re-consider issuing real visa on arrival at Yangon Airport until further notice.
At moment, Authority will issue Pre-arrangement visa on arrival at Yangon and Mandalay Airports with effect from 1st September 2010 similar procedure as previous practices.
For the sake of security reason, pre-arrangement time will be taken about minimum 7 to 10 working days. Local granter is required as licensed Tour Operator in Myanmar for package tourists in order to apply for pre-arrangement visa on arrival as per following process:
( A ). For the client who has no Myanmar
embassy in their countries and who buy package tour with us, we
can provide Pre-arranged visa on arrival service.
( B ). We recommend getting Myanmar visa in advance from the Myanmar Embassy abroad if you have chance. Ifyou need urgent process, we will ask to our Tourism Ministryforrecommendation as package tour to respectiveMyanmar Embassies abroad.
( C ) If you want us to provide the pre-arrange visa on arrival service, please give us the below information

(passport must be valid 6 months after arrival!)

- Scanned passport photo or copy of passport page with photo
- With our service, the clients do not need to fill up all above data, just need to send the scanned copy of passport page with photo only. We will prepare all in advance.
With this information we will apply for a visa on arrival. In order to be able to process the visa in time we need about 7-10 working days.
After getting the approval letter from the authorities, Myanmar Voyages will send you a copy of this authorization letter to be presented at the check-in counter of the airline ( be awarded – airline will not let you board flight).
You are requested to bring with you the copy of the authorization letter, 2 passport size pictures and the amount of 30 USD in cash for payment of the visa fee on arrival at airport.

· Climate
Myanmar has three seasons. The cold season – October through February with average temperatures of between 20-24 ‘C. The hot season – March to May with average temperatures of between 30-35‘C. The west season June to September with average temperatures between 25-30‘C.
· Dress
Cotton clothing and a light wrap for the evenings during the cool season are recommended. Do not wear shorts , in appropriate wear or sleeveless blouses when visiting temples .Foot ware must be removed before entering a temple.
