Tour highlights
Take a scenic drive to Hoa Binh the trail head, gateway to Vietnam 's northwest highland and best know for trekking center of Mai Chau. Trek on dirt unpaved routes through local minority group villages and evergreen rice fields, vegetable farms and fruit orchards, undulating up and down hills and valleys, with spectacular karst rock mountains as backdrop. Explore Vietnam 's northwest natural heritage site, Pu Luong Nature Reserve, with its rich biodiversity blessed with rich forest, limestone panoramas, rice terraces and breathtaking scenery. Immerse in cultural exchange with the Eco-Tourism Homestays, hosted by friendly local ethnic people, at different minority group villages and enjoy trying tasty local dishes in the natural surroundings. Leave from your hotel at 7.00am.
Transfer to Mai Chau. We drive on a very nice road and passing through
spectaculars on routes. Arrival in in Lac village, the home of a Thai ethnic
minority group. After lunch, you can wander around the houses to see the
daily life of local people. They specialise in weaving brocade products and
are happy to show visitors their skills. The village is operated as a
community co-operative, set up by the people themselves. You'll then drive a
further 15km and board a rowing sampan to paddle along the Ma River stopping
en-route to visit some of the nearby ethnic minorities villages. One of the
highlight on this walk is to experience the everyday life and culture white
Thai people and stay in their traditional house on stilts as honoured guests.
Again boat ferries across the river, we hit the road to Hang village where we
will be having dinner and stay at their traditional Thai house on stilts.

Day 2: Pu Luong – Mai Chau – Hanoi
(B,L) The daily life of the locals here starts early, it will be interesting for you to get up and take part in their activities to experience their lovely colourful life (this is sure with fun!). Breakfast at their house, then at 8 am start our trek inside Pu Luong Nature Reserve (back on some of the same routes) then on to the main road After 3 hours walk, a waiting land-cruiser pick us up and transfer to Poom Coom village for lunch.
