Hoi An was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1999. During the full moon of every month, local shop owners turn off the electricity and hang lanterns bearing their shops' names, and a candlelight lantern procession, complete with a few small floats, makes its way through the Old Town. It's well worth timing a visit to enjoy the spectacle and the post-processional festivities.

Day 1:
Hoi An Arrival (D)
Wander among historic homes and temples, perhaps stop to lounge in an open-air cafe, gaze at the oddities and exotic foods in the market, or take a sampan ride down the lazy river. In the afternoons when school is out, the streets are thronged with skipping children in spotless white shirts and girls in their ao dai uniforms, and you can still see local craftsmen at work in some parts of the city.
Successful in serving travelers, in July 2003 the new four star hotel Vinh Hung Resort is opened. The atheistic, experienced and professional staff is meet all the need of distinguished guests. Set in a beautiful tropical garden next to the romantic Thu Bon river and is located only a short walk or complimentary boat ride to the historic center of Hoi An. You will have the opportunity to relax in the beautifully landscaped setting and enjoy the magnificent views of the river. The splendid mix of Vietnamese tradition and charm combined with the comforts of international standards will make this an unforgettable stay in Viet Nam . Your diversified tastes and needs will be satisfied by our creative, enthusiastic and friendly staffs at Vinh Hung Resort.
Most visitors to Hoi An spend a lot of time walking through the ancient streets, buying clothes, shoes and paintings in the town's famous shops. But how many visitors get to discover the simple life of the villagers, watch the children at play and experience the warmth of their welcome while enjoying the beautiful scenery, such as bamboo, churches and thatched cottages. We will take you on a “ Pedicab or Xich Lo ” tour with an experienced local guide who will show you the more interesting hidden parts of this beautiful town. Everything is guaranteed to give you a sense of serenity.
In the afternoon, our local guide will meet you at the hotel in the town and ride a “Xich Lo” through the opposite site of Hoi An River bank where you can take a panorama of Hoi An town. Keep on the “Xich Lo” through the tiny lanes of Hoi An countryside, passing the fields of corn, sweet potatoes, beautiful local fruit-garden ... Stop over the local fishing village, get on the boat for 2 hours streaming down the Cua Dai estuary to enjoy the sunset on the river.

Hoi An biking– Tra Que village – Cooking class( B,L)
Tra Que is a charming little village on the edge of Hoi An, the village is famous for its sweet scented & green vegetables that spice up on the daily meals of Hoi An people: Cao Lau and Quang noodles. Come here, you will have a chance to discover the art of cultivating and water plants, tasting and doing a cooking class with local dishes prepared by host.
Depart at your hotel at 9:00 am, you will ride by bicycle to Tra Que Vegetable Village , experience a day of living and working with the local farmers in this village. A tour of the organic vegetable and herb gardens can include some time working in the field if you like, or merely observing and learning about the system and the fresh ingredients. Upon returning to the house, we were all treated to an herbal foot massage followed by a session of cooking various local dishes als such as : Tam Huu Spring Roll, Banh Xeo or the local pancake of the people from the middle region. Day 4:
Hoi An Shopping – Departure: (B)
Try any of the shops along Le Loi; to recommend one in particular would be like recommending one snowflake over another. The tailoring is very fast but not always great, so plan to have two or three fittings. Be choosy about your cloth, or go to the market and buy it yourself ( Hoi An Cloth Market is at 01 Tran Phu St. ), and haggle. It's not a bad idea to bring an actual suit or piece of clothing that you'd like a copy of. Get measurements from friends and relatives for good gifts.
Note: Unless otherwise noted, most stores listed below are open from 8am to late evening (around 9pm), but hours can and do vary.
There are also skilled cobblers who make custom shoes at affordable rates. Find them near the market on Tran Phu Street .
Tran Phu Street is lined with art galleries and good pottery and woodcarving vendors. Along the river, lots of places sell blue-and-white ceramics . However cumbersome your finds are, like those lovely Chinese lanterns , shopkeepers are masters at packing for travel and to fit in your luggage, and will do so before you've even agreed on a price or decided to buy. Haggle hard.
