A former French hill station, located in the middle of the breathtaking landscapes in the north of Vietnam. Sapa is one of the most wonderful places in Asia and is a magical combination of landscapes, ethnic cultures and bracing mountain air.
At 3143m Mt.Fansipan is the highest peak in Vietnam and the entire Indochina peninsula. This remote trek provides plenty to see and absorb, from the scattered rocks inscribed with drawings and designs of unknown origin, to the French influenced hill retreat town of Sapa with its minority groups, beautiful villas and cherry forests. As we ascend through the lower reaches of Fansipan, we will pass terraced rice paddies and villages of the H'mong, one of Vietnam's many ethnic minorities. Giant, centuries old pine trees and expanses of yellow bamboo mark the higher reaches of our climb and we may sight mountain goats and languor monkeys along the way.
Our trek to the top of Mt. Fansipan is challenging and will be fully supported every step of the way by our guides, porters and cooks who has local knowledge and understanding of the different hill-tribe cultures we pass along the way will add to the uniqueness of this exhilarating journey.

South Pacific Travel’s bus and guide will pick you up at your hotel and transfer you for the overnight train to Lao Cai Station. Enjoy the experience the romance of overnight train travel.

Day 2: Lao Cai Station – Sapa – Tram Ton – 2900m (B, L, D):
You are having a couple of interesting days waiting ahead. You travel by car toward the Silver Waterfall where you will be able to take a short walk to the waterfall. You will then drive further to Heaven Gate, the highest peak of roads in Vietnam. From there you can see Fansipan, the highest peak of Indochina mountains as well as enjoy stunning views. The trek will be relatively soft until lunchtime. After a couple of hours of hiking, you will have a break at a nice spot in the forest and enjoy a good lunch.
With new energy, you start ascending as well as descending towards the campsite. En route you have many opportunities to enjoy the scenery and magnificent views to Sapa area and beautiful landscape of Lai Chau province. You will arrive to the campsite at 2900m ASL in the late afternoon. Now it is time to relax and enjoy a well prepared dinner.

Day 3: 2900m – the top of Fansipan – 2700m (B, L, D):
After having breakfast, fell ready for your last climbing, you climb to the top, where you can celebrate your victory.You will be happy, excited and congratulate each other for your achievement. all scenery of indochina is in your view. It felt like we are on top of the world.
Once time on the roof of Indochinayou have the feeling of overcomming yourself, hardship and challenge. Now is the time for you to enjoy the feeling of winner, the feeling of being hero and brave yourself. You will take many pictures of the spectacular views and surrounding vistas which are well worth the 2 days of trekking.
The day was spectacular, the sun and our feeling of happiness seemed to cover our exhausting experiences. From there, you can enjoy the best view to beautiful sceneries. You will then start descending. You stop on the way at a nice spot for lunch. After lunch, you start the tough trek, which is all the way downhill through rainforest. This part requires a great concentration to step on steep trail until you meet the campsite at 2700m ASL. Here you spend another night in tent.

Day 4: 2700m – Sin Chai – Sapa – Lao Cai Station – overnight train back to Hanoi (B, L): You wake up in the fresh and pure morning in wild nature, before heading back to civilization. You trek downhill through well protected forest and after a couple of hours of hiking, you stop for lunch. The trip back is easy but you have to exert your last effort to overcome exhaustion and forests. You will then continue descending toward Sin Chai village of Black Hmong minority. On the way you will be able to enjoy valley views and beautiful surrounding. You stop at the village for a while before you go by car back to Sapa, where you can celebrate your achievement and relax, refresh take shower and then take the car to Lao Cai Station for your overnight train back to Hanoi.

Day 5: Hanoi Arrival:
You will arrive in Hanoi Station at around 5h30. Our tour finishes.
Notes on Fansipan Climbs:
Climb a 3413 ASLMountain in just two days takes some effort, endurance and plenty of high spirit. The night will be spent in tent with toilet tent provided. The trip is not recommended in bad weather due to safety
Altitude:
Fansipan is almost 3150 meter above sea level. The risk for altitude sickness is very low.
Trails conditions:
One of the things which make Fansipan at challenging experience is the lack of prepared trails. The conditions of the trails very much depend on the weather conditions, and will be slippery in rainy weather.
Walking hours:
Depending on your route the walking hours can vary from 6 – 11 hours per day. Normally the summit day is long, with start early and return to the camp late afternoon.
Camps:
There is only 1 prepared camp at Fansipan. All other overnight places are small, without any facilities.
Sanitary conditions:
In one camp, simple toilet facilities has been made.
Equipment:
We will provide you with the necessary camping equipment. To climb Fansipan we strongly recommend good walking boots or shoes. Furthermore a warm sweater and a rain jacket are necessary.
Food/water:
Our guide and cook will prepare delicious food on the way. We use ceramic filters to purify our drinking water.
Weather:
As mentioned the trail conditions will be difficult in rainy weather. It is not recommendable to climb Fansipan in heavy rain due to security. If South Pacific Travel believes that the fitness of the group do not meet the requirements of the weather situation, we do have the rights to cancel or re-schedule the trip.
The transfers:
In Hanoi, Our guide will accompany you to the train to show you your cabin and tell you how to deal with night train traveling in Vietnam. In Lao Cai, our guide will meet you at Lao Cai Railway Station in the morning of the first day. He also sees you off at Lao Cai Railway Station on the third day.
When you get back to Hanoi on day 4, you can easily find a taxi to get to your hotel.

The camping ground: Our camp for the evening will be in a very small clearing on the mountain enclosed by bamboo. You will be provided with twin shared tent, sleeping bag and air mattress.
