At an elevation of 1,600 meters, Sapa is a delightful former French hill station situated in the mountainous region of Vietnam's northwest, close to the Chinese border. The region is home to many ethnic minority groups, each wearing traditional and colorful attire. This trip includes a trek through the hills and valleys of the Sapa region, discovering several different minorities along the way.
On the trip you will trek along MuongHoaRiver sneaking through the valley nearby Sapa town, which is surrounded by huge rice paddy terraces. On the way you will learn more about how is the rice cultivating from when the seed sowed to harvested until being served as cooked rice on your dinner table. Arriving at Noi Bai airport in Hanoi, you will be met and driven to your hotel. You will have time to relax after your journey before a ‘Welcome dinner’ at a traditional restaurant with Vietnamese cuisine. In the evening, you will have tickets for a performance of traditional Water Puppetry, an art form unique to northern Vietnam, and a good, light-hearted introduction to its rural culture. You will spend the night in Hanoi.

Day 2: Hanoi discovery – night train to Sapa (B, L):
You will have the whole day to explore Vietnam’s capital city. Your guide will take you to the Temple of Literature, the first university in Vietnam dating back to the 11th century, and a popular attraction, as is Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum. You will then drive to the excellent EthnologyMuseum for an overview of Vietnam’s 54 distinct ethnic groups in anticipation of your trip to Sapa. Dinner is for your choice. After that our guide will take you to train station for the romance of night train to Sapa.

Day 3: Lao Cai Station – Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van – Sapa (B, L, D):
We will take 1hr bus ride uphill to the beautiful town of Sapa. The ride give you a glimpse of the stunning vistas and impressive rice terraces. Upon arrival in SapaTown, leave your luggage in hotel and then have breakfast. Soak your body, feel ready for a great trek down to the picturesque valley of Muong Hoa. We will walk on small paths and trails to reach Lao Chai and TavanVillage to visit the Tayand Day tribes. Picnic lunch on the way then keep going along the bottom of the Sapa valley. Our car will take you back to Sapa for your overnight stay.

Day 4: Sapa – Cat Cat – Sin Chai – Lao Cai Station – Overnight train back to Hanoi (B, L):
Sunrise breakfast and then check in your hotel, get ready for our last trek. You first sneak through the market and leave the busy town behind. After a couple of minutes, you will follow a road going down hill to Cat Cat village. You will stop by a waterfall and a hydroelectric station. Take a rest here before you trek downhill to get Sin Chai village. Enjoy beautiful scenery on the way back to Sapa town for lunch. You will have free time to discover by yourself in the afternoon. Dinner is for your choice. Back to hotel for shower and then our car will transfer you to Lao Cai station for overnight train back to Hanoi.

Day 5: Arrive back to Hanoi.
You will arrive in Hanoi Station at around 5h30. Our tour finishes.
The trekking day A typical trekking day start at about 8.30 am after breakfast. Lunch times can vary depending on the terrain. We aim to reach the next overnight stop by 4.30 or 5. During the trek we will have short breaks for rest, snack and photographing.
Food
All meals which are indicated in the itinerary, are included in the price of this trip. Picnic lunch would be prepared by a local restaurant. The emphasis will be on healthy and nutrious fresh local produce.Please inform us if you have any special dietary requirement.
The transfers In Hanoi, Our guide will accompany you to the train to show you your cabin and tell you how to deal with night train traveling in Vietnam. In Lao Cai, our guide will meet you at Lao Cai Railway Station in the morning of the first day. He also sees you off at Lao Cai Railway Station on the third day. When you get back to Hanoi on day 4, you can easily find a taxi to get to your hotel
