Ho Chi Minh City is the heart and soul of Vietnam . It's a bustling, dynamic and industrious centre, the largest city in the country, the economic capital and the cultural trendsetter. Yet within the teeming metropolis are the timeless traditions and beauty of an ancient culture. This is a city that churns, ferments, bubbles and fumes. The streets, where much of the city's life takes place, are a jumble of street markets, shops, pavement cafes, stands-on-wheels and vendors selling wares spread out on sidewalks. It is impossible not to be infected by its exhilarating vibe.

Cu Chi still contains plenty of evidence of the fierce battle that took place here and all over this area you will find the remnants of war.
A morning drive will take you to visit the famous Cu Chi tunnels , a byzantine maze of underground passages, chambers, rooms and booby traps used by both the Vietminh and the Viet Cong to suddenly materialise as if from nowhere, launch a lightning ambush, you will watch a short introductory video on the tunnels construction and explore the maze of tunnels. and vanish equally rapidly. Back to Ho Chi Minh for having lunch and then our guide will show you around Ho Chi Minh City .

After breakfast you will be spoilt for choice for shops and most of them are within easy walking distance of each other. Many shops are found along Dong Khoi, which used to be the trendy Rue Catinat in French colonial times. Close by are Hai Ba Trung and Le Loi, which are also worth a look. Off-the-peg clothing is always a good buy but even better is to have clothes made up by one of the many tailors.
There is always a good range of colored silk to choose from. Hand-embroidered tablecloths and napkins are very popular. Items such as boxes and vases made from lacquerware are extremely good value. Busy Ben Thanh Market on Le Loi is crammed with items of interest to the visitor, such as clothes and souvenirs, as well as more general household items, food and flowers. The duty-free shop on the corner of Nguyen Hue and Le Loi in the center of downtown Saigon . Your overnight will be in Ho Chi Minh City .
