Perfume Pagoda – back to origin of Buddhism land

Overview:
Just 65 km from Hanoi, Perfume Pagoda is located in Ha Tay province which boasts the highest section of limestone mountains in Vietnam. The Perfume Pagoda is one of the highlights of the Hanoi area and one of the most important religious sites in Buddhist Vietnam. Every spring, after the Vietnamese New Year, thousands of Vietnamese pilgrims come here to pray for all the health and prosperity they need to get them through the year. The pagoda itself is situated in a huge cave built into limestone cliffs and can only be reached by boat as there are no roads. You glide along scenic waterways and walk up steep mountain paths, visiting the pagodas and temples built in this area over the centuries. Tourists on pilgrimage to Perfume Pagoda feel that are somehow transported from the daily life to a heavenly, poetic world of clouds–water–forest–mountains–caves–and wild animals... Entering Huong Tich Cave, with its ‘tree of gold’, ‘tree of money’, and ‘Buddha’ created over hundreds of years from stalactites, it can truly be named as the most spectacular cave in Vietnam.

Tour highlights:

  • Experience the glimpse of the Red River Delta in the north.
  • Take on the boat trip on Yen Vi River to see the daily life of the farmers and the spectacular senery of mountain, temple, with the most beautiful cave in Vietnam
  • Understand more about Buddhism and its purity.
